European Journal of Life Writing

VU University Library facilitates a new online, open access, not-for-profit peer-reviewed journal: The European Journal of Life Writing. The journal was founded by the European Section of the International Auto/Biography Association (IABA Europe) during the Founding Conference of IABA Europe at the VU University in Amsterdam in October 2009, and publishes scholarly articles on Life Writing as well as creative work within the range of Life Writing.

Open Access
The European Journal of Life Writing is an open access journal with no article-processing charge. The Journal provides immediate open access to its papers on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

First Volume
Working with volumes rather than issues, the European Journal of Life Writing has been online since 5 December 2012.

Life Writing
The European Journal of Life Writing is interdisciplinary in its outlook and welcomes articles on life writing from a wide range of disciplinary fields: literary and cultural studies, history and sociology, anthropology and ethnology, philosophy and psychology, film and media studies. It cherishes all kinds of theoretical and methodological approaches to auto/biography and enhances their interaction. It also accommodates studies that relate to diverse aspects of ‘Europeanness’, ranging from the former metropolitan core to its putative margins – and beyond.

Readers can register via the journals website in order to receive publication notifications and Calls for Papers : http://ejlw.eu/index
